Managing Franchise Construction Projects in the New Post-Pandemic World
Today we look at just about everything a little differently. Franchise construction has evolved post-pandemic so the way we manage them has had to change too. Continue reading to learn some of the challenges we have faced and how we're working to overcome them and continue to deliver top notch results.
Deliver Revised Estimates
In the course of business, timelines change and so do the costs involved with delivering services. In the event that things come up before a proposal is accepted, it's critical to revise and resend estimates with updated information. Approvals for franchises through the pandemic have taken longer, consequently resulting in hardships with previously quotes services. We proactively resolve this by sending updated estimates.
Communicate Material Cost Changes
Supply and demand has hit the construction material the hardest. From lumber reaching record highs to other materials simply not being available, nearly every project has been affected one way or another. When we know there is a cost change, it is immediately communicated.
Delays? We Work Around Them.
Through mandatory quarantine and state regulated shutdowns, there have been unforecasted delays and limited access to franchise locations. As a response, we have quickly compounded work schedules for other projects where access was granted and added additional resources when normal access was resumed. This has limited delays and significantly improved delivery.
Social Distancing Adjustments
If a job site cannot be a safe work environment, for both employees and a client's, we have made changes included staggered shifts, partition installations, night time scheduling and rescheduling. We are always willing to work together to ensure that everyone, including the people surrounded by our job sites, are not negatively impacted or uncomfortable by our presence.
Prepare for Anything
Can we really prepare for anything? Maybe not, however each job is started with a contingency plan in case there are shutdowns, staff quarantines, job site outbreaks or material delays. We have taken as many precautions and necessary steps to ensure a safe but also efficient work environment, keeping everyone's safety and objectives in mind.
